BlueHalo, LLC Electrical Engineer Physics Intern in United States

Overview

The program is seeking a self motivated, productive, result-oriented student in an Electrical Engineering or Physics program to directly support scientists and engineers to perform characterization of visible through long-wavelength infrared detectors and materials in a fast-paced, highly-agile, team environment. Characterization methods before and after irradiation include dark current-voltage, photocurrent-voltage, capacitance-voltage, spectral photoresponse, quantum efficiency, time-resolved microwave reflectance decay, deep-level transient spectroscopy, photoluminescence spectroscopy, time-resolved photoluminescence spectroscopy, and noise spectroscopy. The candidate will contribute to bench-level experimental research associated with advancing visible through long-wavelength infrared detectors and focal plane arrays. Knowledge of software such as Matlab, Labview, C++, and/or Visual Basic a plus

You’d like to do this

Individual will be directly mentored on laboratory tasks and will perform them under close supervision until adequate capability to complete is demonstrated, at which point the individual will lead these specific aspects of the day-to-day operation and contribution to bench level experimental research. Some example tasks in which the individual will be directly mentored on how to complete may include filling of Dewars with cryogens, measuring objects sizes and making drawings, laboratory equipment setup and tear down as part of characterization underway, tabulating and organizing data, provide troubleshooting of equipment and characterization tools and alike hands-on tasks Individual shall be hands-on, results-oriented and able to take direction from other group members.

You’re required to have this

Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's Degree in relevant Science (Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Materials, etc.) from an accredited four-year university Good organizational skills and ability to work independently, seeking support from team members when required All work is to be done in a laboratory environment.
