College of Mount Saint Vincent Assistant Athletic Director for Fitness Center and Head Baseball Coach in The Bronx, New York

Responsibilities: Assistant Athletic Director for Fitness Center

  • Manages and coordinates all maintenance and cleaning needs for Fitness Center

  • Hire and Schedule student workers for Fitness Center

  • Execute student-worker payment through Punch Time bi-weekly

  • Post and enforce all standards for Fitness Center

  • Alert the campus of Fitness Center Hours

  • Alert the campus to any Fitness Center closings

  • Coordinate with facilities and operations to ensure Fitness Center is maintained and updated as needed.

  • Store and keep up to date with all equipment warranties

  • Make sure the Fitness Center is welcoming to all students, staff, administrators, faculty and alums

  • Report any issues to Campus Security

  • Other duties assigned by the Athletic Director.

Responsibilities: Head Baseball Coach

  • Provides leadership and supervision in all aspects of the baseball program including, recruitment, retention, academic support, practice preparation, game strategy, alumni development, fundraising and community service.

  • Secure practice and game facilities for fall and spring

  • Recruitment of student athletes who meet the University's admission requirements. Meets recruitment goals as developed annually by the Director of Athletics

  • Coordinate and outline a complete recruiting agenda to identify quality student athletes. This should include names of players, high school visits, coaching contacts, personal contacts, attendance at showcases and tournaments, telephone and email contacts and campus visits

  • Mandatory attendance at all Admission open houses and scheduled orientations

  • Ensures compliance with all University, Skyline Conference and NCAA rules and regulations related to recruiting and academic monitoring for student-athletes

  • Collaborates with the Sports Information Director for the positive promotion of the baseball program. Areas included should be individual and team statistics, media guides, reports to NCAA, Skyline Conference, individual accolades on and off the field and website updates

  • Ensures department and University regulations are understood by and complied with by student athletes and coaching staff

  • Work closely with the Athletics Department to fundraise for spring trip

  • Represent the University at athletics meetings pertaining to baseball; including Skyline Conference meetings and ABCA coaches convention

  • Coordinate a minimum of two (2) community outreach projects for the promotion of UMSV athletics

  • Develop an annual operating budget and oversee the purchasing, distribution and collection of all equipment

  • Display a commitment to the principles of sportsmanship and ethical conduct as per the NCAA Constitution

  • Works closely with Director of Athletics on long and short-term planning for the baseball program

  • Supervises and trains the head junior varsity coach and varsity assistant coach

  • Game Manager for Fall and Winter Sports

  • Other duties assigned by the Athletic Director

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization

  • Knowledge of NCAA, conference and University rules and regulations

  • Previous successful coaching and playing experience on the University or High School level

  • Ability to work effectively with all College personnel, students, and the community

  • Evening and weekend hours essential

  • Must have a valid driver's license
