Encore Program Manager, Talent & Leadership Development in Schiller Park, Illinois

Position Overview

The Program Manager, Talent and Leadership Development compiles research, performs, and analyzes company-wide processes of leadership development and performance management. This role will create a systematic approach to share and adopt Encore’s culture represented through Core Values, Focus on You, and throughout the company’s initiatives. These processes will aid in recognizing top talent, creating, and reinforcing a high performing culture that fosters employee engagement and drives business growth. This position reports to the Director, Talent Management and Leadership Development.

Key Job Responsibilities

Talent Management

• Collaborates with Director of Talent Management, Senior Program Manager, HR Business Partners, and company leaders to develop talent strategies for Performance Management, Talent Assessment, Succession Planning, Cultural Change and Employee Engagement throughout the organization.

• Compiles data and creates reports to support fair and equitable calibration of performance across groups and individuals.

• Partners with Human Resources Managers to ensure proper execution of annual Integrated Talent Management processes.

• Identifies, develops, and tracks key talent management metrics and prepares regular reports for review by Senior Leadership.

• Creates tools and reports to support the Talent Assessment and Succession Planning processes. May attend succession planning sessions to record output and share with participants.

• Researches current best practices and provides input into decisions about revising current approaches accordingly.

• Develops analytics/metrics to measure success of key Talent initiatives

Leadership Development

• Collaborates with Director, Talent Management, Senior Program Manager and internal business partners to develop and support Encore’s comprehensive, best-in-class Leadership Development Strategy and programs.

• Partners in the design and implementation of Leadership Development programs for all levels of leadership including high potential leaders in the organization, recent college graduate program, and any other programs that may be required.

• Responsible for the day-to-day operations of one or more internal leadership development programs, including oversight of participants, coordination with business leaders, program scheduling, and program graduation.

• Administers key talent surveys and feedback tools (i.e. 360 assessments) as required to measure employee engagement, talent and application of learning.

• Partners with HR and Business Leaders to assure proper understanding and application of Encore’s leadership development competency set into our culture and talent processes and systems.

Culture initiatives

• Creates and sustains a systematic approach to sharing and adopting the culture as represented by Encore’s Core Values, and Focus on You, throughout the organization.

• Partners with HR Leaders, Executives, Marketing and other business leaders to ensure relevance of Focus on You (employee value proposition) by ensuring content is relevant and up-to-date.

• Coordinates the annual engagement survey process, including the survey preparation and launch, progress monitoring, reporting and compilation of survey results. Support manager development of action plans that have a direct and measurable impact on business results.

• Provides ongoing support for CenterStage to drive performance and engagement through the company-wide recognition program.

• Plays an active role in promoting and supporting Encore’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives.

Project Management

• Produces and manages appropriate program plans, milestones, and deliverables, including ensuring KPI’s are tracked and communicated.

• Identifies program impediments and ensures escalations to the appropriate individuals or groups are done early and often.

• Understands the mechanics of project management and contributes fully to planning, decision making and development processes.

Job Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in a related field; Human Resources, Organizational Behavior, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Hospitality, or related field of study.

• 3-5 years relevant work experience in Human Resources, Talent Management, Leadership Development or Learning and Development.

• Strong verbal, visual and written communications skills with the professional confidence and credibility to effectively engage with all levels of the organization, including senior executives.

• Communication agility and the ability to deliver messages uniquely tailored to distinct business partners or global regions.

• Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail.

• The ability to juggle multiple projects, and to spot a way forward through complicated problems.

• Ability to build strong relationships with a polished and professional attitude.

• Ability and willingness to move between the strategic and the tactical.

• Strong program management skills, with ability to anticipate needed changes and resources.

• Demonstrated experience supporting company-wide integrated talent management programs, including talent review/succession planning, performance management, leadership/behavioral/technical competencies, and employee engagement surveys.

• Proven ability to compile and interpret large and/or complex data sets and prepare insightful, user-friendly reports.

• Experience developing and supporting Leadership Programs for large scale organizations

• Proven ability to incorporate feedback quickly to improve performance.

• Comfortable dealing with complexity. Demonstrated ability to be a self-starter in many different environments.

• Flexible and adaptable in an uncertain and ever-changing environment.

• Embodies the work ethic and personality that thrives in a fast-paced culture with tight deadlines, shifting priorities, and matrix-managed responsibilities.

Work Environment

Office environment

Occasional travel (<10%) required

Work is generally performed at an office that is moderately quiet. Team members will occasionally visit other work locations for meetings or for other business reasons. Working times will include days and may include evenings, weekends and holidays. Team members must adhere to appearance guidelines as defined by Encore.
