Required Qualifications: Applicants must specifically address how they meet these required qualifications to meet the requirements of the position.
Certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) by the American Society for Clinical Pathology ( ASCP ) or other recognized certification agency.
Experience performing CLIA waived, moderate and high complexity medical laboratory testing.
Experience using computers and Microsoft Office software including Outlook and Word.
Experience using electronic health records.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience using eClinical Works.
Experience with Venipuncture or phlebotomy certification.
Experience processing radiographs.
Job Description
Student Health Center ( SHC ) at Texas State University is seeking a Medical Technologist for its CLIA -certified lab. Responsibilities include phlebotomy, specimen collection, performing moderate and high complexity CLIA -waived medical laboratory testing. Must participate in quality assurance and proficiency testing procedures and activities.
Nationally accredited ambulatory health care facility providing medical, laboratory, radiology, and health promotion services to a student population of over 38,500. Clinic hours are MWF 8am-5pm & TTH 9am-6pm.
Job Duties
Phlebotomy and specimen collection.
Perform CLIA -waived, moderate, and high-complexity medical laboratory tests
Report lab results & Perform data entry.
Maintain quality control logs.
Perform routine troubleshooting, calibration, and maintenance of equipment.
Perform proficiency testing.
Monitor and report inventory levels of supplies.
Perform other duties as assigned.
