As a Corporate Development professional, you will play a key role in charting Duolingo’s path towards becoming a 100-year company by identifying, evaluating and executing on acquisitions that accelerate our strategic initiatives or expand our reach beyond language learning. Corporate Development at Duolingo is strategic, so you’ll also work on relevant or related strategy projects.

You will…

• Lead all aspects of M&A end-to-end from sourcing to close

• Identify and track compelling opportunities that support Duolingo’s strategic priorities through industry research and interaction with business leaders, founders, venture capitalists, and others

• Partner with business and product teams to evaluate opportunities

• Develop financial and valuation analyses for potential transactions

• Coordinate due diligence processes with cross-functional teams and target companies

• Build investment memos and presentations for executives and Board members

• Assist with integration planning and execution

You have…

• Minimum 3 years consulting or investment banking experience and 3+ years of Corporate Development or Venture Investing experience (consumer internet or consumer technology industry experience a plus)

• History of successfully completing M&A transactions end-to-end

• Experience working with product and engineering teams

• Proficiency in modeling, analysis, and research, with strong attention to detail

• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate insights into executive and Board-friendly presentations

• Self-starter capable of working independently with rapid cycles of analysis, iteration, and decision-making

• Strong leadership skills, including ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders

Exceptional candidates will have…

• Strategic Corporate Development experience in a high-growth and product-engineering led organization

• Track record of identifying, evaluating, and executing transactions

• Solid understanding of the consumer tech industry

We invest in and support our Duos! This role is eligible for a robust compensation package of base salary, equity, and Duolingo’s world-class benefits. The starting base salary range for this role is, $ 147,000 - $ 300,600 . Actual salary may vary based on level, work experience, performance, and other factors evaluated during the hiring process.
