Job Description

Your role: AsProduction Analystyour role will be an essential part of the Newsprinters Finance team, reporting directly into theSenior Finance Manager – Production & Logistics.

Day to day you will:

  • Calculation of weekly and monthly production costs and variance reporting for External Print, Insertion & Packaging, Ink & Plates.

  • Monthly reporting of Publishing Operations overheads.

  • Preparing the budget and forecast for production costs including Ink, Plates, External Printing and Insertion and Packaging for News UK Titles.

  • Preparing the budget and forecast for Publishing Operations overhead costs and headcount.

  • Working with the Head of Magazine Publishing and Publishing Director to ensure magazine production costs are calculated correctly.

  • Regular communication with the Publishing Operations Department to ensure accurate reporting of overhead costs.

  • Regular communication with the other Finance teams; ensuring a close working relationship and effective communication at all times.

  • Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts and timely resolution of queries.

  • Regular review of External Printing in conjunction with contracts.

  • Flagging any risks or opportunities.

  • Some travel to London to meet with business stakeholders.

What we are looking for from you:

  • Part qualified and actively studying ACCA, CIMA or the equivalent.

  • Communicating effectively across a wide range of stakeholders including Directors, Senior Managers and with all levels of staff

  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to analyse and interpret data across multiple systems.

  • SAP/TM1 experience would be beneficial
