We are looking for a candidate to join our analytics, research & insight team as our Senior Director of Advanced Analytics. Leveraging class-leading data and analytics, this role will play an integral part in the next phase of growth for Sirius XM. For this full-time position, we seek a person that combines strong programming, data management and statistical skills with strategic thinking, intellectual tenacity and the ability to translate complex concepts into impactful insights and visualizations. In this role, you will lead advanced analytics projects that drive growth in subscriber and revenue for Sirius XM through satistical testing (Randomized Control Test) and statistical modeling. You will work closely with a team of data scientists and big data engineers, and play a key role in developing and delivering the next generation of advanced analytics and machine learning solutions to the business.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Partner with marketing teams (from acquisition to retention and winback) to design tests and provide statistical evaluation of results.
Ensure that all test populations are unbiased and being setup with proper statistical rigor.
Lead advanced analytic projects and deliver innovative technical solutions to solve problems and improve business outcomes.
Prepare presentations and clearly communicate findings from initiatives to senior management and to the broader organization.
Lead the design and development of machine learning/statistical models and ensure rigorous validation procedures and best performance.
Lead the evaluation process of new data sources. Perform data exploration and analysis to determine coverage of new data, to evaluate correlation to Sirius XM key business metrics, to determine the importance of various variables and provide recommendations on whether the data source provides incremental value to Sirius XM
Assist engagement with key business stakeholders in discussion on business strategies and opportunities.
Build strong working relationships and develop deep partnership with the business.
Execute sophisticated quantitative analyses and advanced modeling that translates data from multiple sources and of multiple varieties into actionable insights.
- Will be responsible for managing 1 senior manager of advanced analytics.
Master's degree or PhD in computer science, statistics, operations research, engineering, mathematics, economics, physics, or a related quantitative field.
Over 7 years of experience in machine learning and statistical modeling methods for supervised and unsupervised learning, understanding of underlying algorithms, ability to tune and analyze algorithms and extract actionable insights. These methods include (but are not limited to) regression analysis, clustering, outlier detection, decision trees, association rules, collaborative filtering, nearest neighbors and ensemble methods.
Strong prior experience in experimental design and statistical testing.
Proven project management expertise; trained and/or career experience. Experience driving traditional and agile project implementations (preferred).
Requirements and General Skills:
Ability to work with raw data, including big data, knowledge of preprocessing procedures and ability to prepare data for modeling; experience in feature engineering.
Extensive experience wrangling/cleaning data.
Strong public speaking and presentation skills.
Interpersonal skills and ability to interact and work with staff at all levels.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Ability to pay attention to details and be organized.
Ability to project professionalism over the phone and in person.

Must have legal right to work in the U.S.
Exceptional programming skills in Python or R.
Prior SAS experience in EM/EG/JMP is preferred.
Strong knowledge of databases and related languages/tools such as Teradata and Vertica SQL.
Statistical Modeling/Machine Learning Algorithms.
Random Forest Modeling.
Principal Component Analysis.
Thorough knowledge of MS-Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
