Job Description
Sales & Marketing Coordinator
Salary Range: $32 - $34 (depending on experience)
This position is designed to provide administrative support to the Director of Sales and Marketing and Director of Sales and to serve as Office Coordinator for the Sales and Marketing Division. It also provides preparation for an entry-level Sales and/or Marketing Communications position.

The Plaza Sales and Marketing Division consists of Sales, Marketing, Public Relations, Revenue Management and Reservations.
Summary of Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Director of Sales and Marketing and the Director of Sales, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
Consistently offers professional, engaging and friendly service to both internal and external customers
Provides clerical duties as required (i.e. typing, filing, answering phones, calendar management, preparation for Divisional meetings, recording of meeting minutes, etc.) for Director of Sales and Marketing and Marketing and Communications Manager
Responds to inquiries from customers, colleagues in the absence of Sales and Marketing personnel
Has a complete knowledge of hotel's services and facilities
Prepares and disseminates daily, weekly, monthly, annual reports and projects as required and assigned
Maintains all sales collateral and promotional and office supply inventory
Maintains media and marketing archives
As directed, assists with the complication of competitive intelligence information
Attend all required meetings
Maintains Division Colleague Engagement Survey Action Plans, Bulletin Board and attends Service Plus and Green team meetings as assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and/or Hotel Management degree/diploma. Sales or Marketing Coordinator and/or equivalent industry experience an asset
Energetic, alert, profit oriented, assertive
Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly
Excellent presentation and writing skills, including creative copywriting
Self-motivated and creative, requiring minimal supervision in a fast –moving environment
Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure and work well in stressful, high pressure situations
Must be effective at thinking "outside the box" when handling problems in the workplace to include anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary
Must have the ability to assimilate complex information, data, etc. from disparate sources and consider, adjust or modify to meet the constraints of a particular need
Must be effective at listening to, understanding and clarifying concerns and issues raised by supervisors, colleagues and guests
Must be able to work with and understand financial information and data and basic arithmetic functions
Accountable with exceptional follow through
Proven competency in the area of organization and communication skills implementation and the ability to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously
Professional Sales and Presentation skills; Microsoft Office suite of software - proficiency required
Ability to assume Opera Sales and Catering Key Operator responsibilities and operate all technical equipment in the office
Opera Sales & Catering and Opera Property Manager - experience an asset
Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):
Long hours sometimes may be required.
Sedentary work – Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or negligible amounts of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
Periodic travel may be required
