Job Description

Location: New York, NY

Position Summary:

Producer will be responsible for all aspects involved in producing a daily issues-based talk show including promotion, production, social media, guest booking and research.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with host to generate interesting show topics and guests that will create lively dialogue that is bi-partisan.

  • Plan segments, topics and develop editorial calendar for the show.

  • Book segment guests, conduct pre-interviews, and prepare pre materials for host.

  • Edit a weekly Best Of show.

  • Oversee the social media strategy for the show.

  • Identify and edit newsworthy audio clips to share on social media.

  • Contribute specials and event coverage in addition to regular daily shows, and participate in breaking news coverage.

  • Meet with the VP and program director of the channel on a weekly basis to review and establish on-going goals for the show.

  • None

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, relevant experience.

  • At least 4+ years of production experience within radio and/or live studio environment.

Requirements and General Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong relationships with publicists

  • Strong experience in current events and politics.

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

  • Experience working with high-profile talent and guests.

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multi-task, and work under shifting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Flexibility to reprioritize show content in the current news/political cycles.

  • Must have legal right to work in the U.S.

Technical Skills:

  • Thorough knowledge of MS- Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)

  • Solid production skills with a strong working knowledge of audio equipment necessary for on-air and production execution.

  • Knowledge and experience with Adobe Audition.

  • Knowledge of Dalet digital audio storage and playback system a plus.
