Position Summary:

The SiriusXM Digital Experience team is looking for a Director of Frontend Development to lead a small team of frontend technologists that translate our design team's vision into code. You are able to collaborate with diverse stakeholders, mentor your team and contribute on a regular basis. You will collaborate with design, product, analytics and backend technology teams. You are able to toggle between coding and managing. The ideal candidate will have experience building complex, personalized, responsive, templated digital experiences powered by a content management system.

Must be self-directed with the ability to manage time across many projects and competing priorities, meet agreed upon deadlines, and be accountable for work.

You will work regularly with the design team leadership, web developers, marketing managers, and analysts.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Translate designs and user stories into functional frontend code

  • Rapidly create html prototypes

  • Create standards for frontend code development

  • Hire and manage a team of frontend developers

  • Collaborate with the design and product teams to create engaging experiences that delight our customers and drive our business

  • Follow industry best practices and company guidelines to create maintainable site code

  • Work with our analytics team to optimize site experiences through A/B testing and site analysis; integrate designs with A/B & Multivariate Testing Tools

  • Collaborate with other members of the digital marketing team on the development of new initiatives

  • Provide support to other team members as needed (QA, data entry, production updates, resizing of graphics, etc.)

  • Manage a team of developers

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Directly manages a team of 5+ FE developers

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science or equivalent, relevant experience

  • 8+ years' experience within the digital design & development

  • Ability engage diverse senior stakeholders and drive consensus quickly

  • High level of proficiency with Adobe Digital design suite, including Photoshop and Illustrator

  • High level of proficiency with rapid prototyping tools, preferably Sketch and InVision

  • Ability to create low-fidelity wireframes, as well as high-fidelity visual design mockups

  • Experience working with a large-scale content management system, preferably Oracle Web Center Sites

  • Demonstrated experience with mobile first and responsive design

  • Experience with Adobe Analytics, personalization and A/B testing tools, preferably Maxymiser or Adobe Target

  • Ability engage diverse senior stakeholders and drive consensus quickly

  • Experience with the Bootstrap framework

  • Excellent communication skills, demonstrated interest in continued education, and ability to thrive when facing unexpected and/or high pressure tasks

  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Demonstrated experience writing clean, valid HTML and CSS code

Technical Skills:

  • Strong development expertise using core tools like HTML5, CSS3, SASS, JavaScript, and PHP

  • Experience with modern front-end Javascript frameworks such as Angular, React, etc., as well as jQuery library

  • Expertise in some of the following additional development tools: Node.js, CSS preprocessors, REST API, Git

  • Experience creating responsive web interfaces

  • Experienced with development with templated, CMS driven web properties

  • Detail-oriented approach to editing and testing websites for accuracy, usability, and accessibility

  • Experienced with SEO best practices, structured data protocols, social media integration, and other online marketing strategies to promote ongoing website growth

  • Highly experience with site performance and testing tools- preferably Adobe Target & Omniture

  • Expert at translating complex designs into lean, compliant and responsive code

  • Highly experienced at creating code and process documentation and standards and holding an organization accountable to these standards

  • Experienced with online testing tools and best practices

  • Demonstrated experience writing clean, valid HTML and CSS code

  • Highly experienced with validation and QA processes associated with frontend development

  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum/Kanban and Waterfall SDLC with knowledge of project management and collaboration tools like JIRA, Slack

  • Experience working with Oracle Web Center Sites preferred

  • Experience with Adobe Analytics (Site Catalyst) is a nice-to-have

  • Experience with HTML-based animation using HTML5 Canvas or Javascript/CSS preferred

  • Thorough knowledge of MS-Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
