Job Description

Position Summary:

Location: New York, NY

Provides full financial and operating decision analysis management for SiriusXM's Contact Center departments. Assists in the analysis and maintenance of SiriusXM's business plan, ensuring that it accurately depicts the financial position and future prospects of the Company. Makes recommendations to senior management on the Company business plan and structure of budgets. Significantly interacts with the Contact Center teams to discuss budgetary and financial results.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as financial specialist and liaison to Contact Center departments

  • Perform monthly close responsibilities

  • Work with SiriusXM affiliates to review monthly expenses and provide accruals to Accounting

  • Provide variance analysis for summary memo to executive management

  • Distribute and review results with department managers and senior management on a monthly basis

  • Identify areas of risks and opportunities

  • Produce and deliver monthly financial reporting to Finance and Operations' groups

  • Provide monthly forecasts for contact center expenditures

  • Work with cross-functional teams to develop monthly forecasts

  • Present forecast to upper management to obtain approval and provide status updates on any ongoing initiatives

  • Actively seek areas for process improvement to improve efficiency

  • Must understand operations for groups supported and work to identify savings/synergy opportunities and mitigate risks

  • Develop and maintain annual departmental budgets and reforecasts and long range plans

  • Work closely with the Controller's group to provide information to department heads as to accounting methodologies for expenditures and reviews monthly accruals

  • Incorporate actuals as received

  • Research and provide analysis as to reasonableness of assumptions

  • Work with department managers to understand assumptions underlying budgets

  • Make recommendations for changes to budgets, reforecasts and business plan

  • Proactively suggest changes to improve accuracy of reforecasts, budgets and business plan

  • Support finance team on delivery of business cases and on presentation decks when required

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting

  • One (1) to Three (3) years of professional experience in a financial planning / accounting / operations analysis position

Requirements and General Skills:

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of accounting

  • Strong financial analysis and quantitative skills

  • Experience with retrieving, analyzing, and generating insights from data

  • Knowledge of financial planning would be an advantage

  • Ability to work with people and develop relationships across various departments and at all levels

  • Strong communication and presentation skills; can summarize and present conclusions in succinct manner

  • Ability to work closely with departments to develop understanding of operations

  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects with minimum supervision

  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multi-task, and work under shifting deadlines in a fast paced environment

  • Must have legal right to work in the U.S.

Technical Skills:

  • Thorough accounting knowledge including an understanding of financial statements

  • Advanced MS Excel knowledge
