21st Century Community Learning Centers Program Director:

Milton, Mount Carmel and Shamokin, PA

 

The Central Susquehanna Intermediate Unit (CSIU) has a full time opening for a 21st Century Community Learning Centers Program Director for STEAMS (science, technology, engineering, art and math) programming.  This position has an anticipated start date of June 3, 2024.

 

This position will oversee programs located at three (3) area school districts (ie - Milton Area School District, Mount Carmel Area School District and Shamokin Area School District). Position allows for a hybrid work schedule to work from home one (1) day per week with required onsite schedule at the aforementioned school districts four (4) days per week

 

The primary responsibility will plan, develop, write, administer, coordinate, and maintain the 21 CCLC grant-funded program. The STEAMS program will provide after-school and summer programs in the Milton, Shamokin, and Mount Carmel School Districts. The Program Director is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the program, including building and maintaining partnerships, attending conferences, hiring, supervising staff and contractors, ensuring staff clearances, approving project proposals, developing schedules, identifying community resources, and collecting, analyzing, and summarizing evaluation data. The Program Director is also responsible for the evaluation of afterschool programs including ongoing coordination with district administrators and the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE).

Salary: $60,000 -- 68,000 dependent on education, credentials and experience.  This is an exempt position following a 260 day work schedule.  Excellent benefits including medical, dental, vision insurance; retirement options including Pennsylvania Public School Employees Retirement System (PSERS) and life insurance options.

 

Education and experience requirements include:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in education or related field required with minimum one (1) year experience working with after-school programs preferred.A Master's degree or higher in is preferred.
  • Prior supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Ability to comprehend grant contracts and federal / state assurances is required. The management of federally funded programs preferred.
  • Project and grant management and contracts/proposals work experience is preferred.In addition, a strong background in planning, implementation and evaluating programs and services is preferred.
  • Experience in education regarding demonstrating instructional techniques required.
  • Prior experience teaching English/Language Arts, mathematics, social studies and/or science is preferred.
  • Understanding human resources and finance procedures including applying budgetary principles and supervising techniques required.
  • and experience managing file sharing with Google Drive.
  • Adept at using virtual meeting platforms such as Skype, Zoom and Microsoft Teams.
