Engineer III, OEM Validation - Part-Time

The Hardware Validation Engineer's primary responsibilities will be to execute hardware validation test plans for satellite radio receivers, primarily for OEM applications. This includes type acceptance as well as DVP&R testing. The ideal candidate will have a provable track record of testing OEM module architectures and will have been directly responsible for writing comprehensive hardware test plans and creating standardized test reports and issues lists. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who can work both independently and within a team environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform/support on-site and offsite DVP&R testing of OEM modules for each phase of the product development process.
Perform type acceptance testing on each receiver product at each phase of the product development process.
Generate standardized hardware validation test reports for communication of status both internally within SiriusXM and to SiriusXM receiver manufacturer partners to support various OEM's. Upload reports and update statuses in test management database.
Collaborate with SiriusXM receiver and/or head unit manufacturer partners to resolve outstanding hardware issues during the product development process.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent, relevant experience. Individuals enrolled and working towards a Bachelor's degree can apply.
Minimum 3 years of experience is desired.
Requirements and General Skills:
Technical writing abilities.
Excellent communication skills.
Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multi-task, and work under shifting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Must have legal right to work in the U.S.
Knowledge of OEM automotive electrical and audio systems.
OEM Module DVP&R testing procedures and requirements.
Bench level OEM module failure analysis techniques.
RF, Digital and Audio fundamentals.
Use of BGA rework machines and hand soldering systems.
Ability to design and build test boxes used during validation efforts.
LabVIEW programming experience is preferred.
DIAdem scripting and reporting experience is preferred.
Demonstrated project management skills is required.
A high-level of personal computer proficiency is required.
Excellent communications skills including the ability to coordinate multi organizational structures such as OEM Applications Engineering, Contract Manufacturing and Test Validation Sites.
Thorough knowledge of MS-Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
