Responsibilities: This is a grant funded position that will contact and assist victims of crime and their families with problems related to the crime; provide crisis counseling to victims in situational crisis, i.e. victims of rape, victims of domestic violence, and families of homicide victims. Assess needs of victims of crime, provide support, recommend, and locate community resources for services; review all new case files to identify victims; consult and collaborate with attorneys, investigators and other staff members regarding care, problems and solutions for victims of crime. Communicate and advise victims regarding judicial information including their rights as a crime victim. Orient victims to courtroom practices, procedures and personnel. Document services provided to victims of crime.

Status: Full-time, exempt, benefited

Working hours: Primarily 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, Monday - Friday

Qualifications: Masters degree in social work, counseling or psychology; excellent oral and written communication skills; educated in cultural awareness and possess the ability to communicate and be non-biased to others who may have a different ethnic or socio-economic background, race or religion; thorough knowledge of the judicial process and of the issues of domestic violence and issues of sexual assault. Prefer knowledge of local area referral services. Candidate should have the ability to work independently as well as part of a team to meet the needs of victims of crime.

Annual Starting Salary Range: $45,718 - $57,137
