Actalent Renewable Civil Engineer (EI Or PE) in Chapel Hill, North Carolina
Description:
The Civil Engineer III is responsible for the management of analysis, development, and permitting of ground-mount utility-scale solar farms.
Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage designers and engineers to develop and evaluate site constraint analysis, including zoning, topography, environment, soils
Coordination and supervision of civil, environmental, and survey services by Consultants, including development of scopes of services, contract management, and invoice review
Manage project schedule and budgets
Responsible for project compliance with all applicable AHJ requirements
Engineer-of-record for soil erosion & sediment control and stormwater plans, details, and calculations for permit submittal to AHJ
Direct Civil Designers and Engineers to prepare and revise site/civil plans and calculations
Prepare revisions and responses to AHJ comments
Skills:
AutoCAD, civil 3D, grading plan, erosion control
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
• BS in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university
• Registered Professional Engineer
• Minimum eight (8) years of relevant work experience
• Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Experience with the design of PV projects (desired)
• Comfortable presenting to and interacting with consultants, authorities with jurisdiction, and regulatory agencies
• Ability to obtain out-of-state PE license
