CommuniCare Health Services Corporate Nursing Faculty, MSN Program Director in Blue Ash, Ohio

MSN PROGRAM DIRECTOR The University of Rio Grande invites applications for the position of Director of the Master of Science in Nursing Adult-Gerontology Clinical Nurse Specialist program. The program is approved by the Ohio Department of Higher Education and is seeking accreditation from the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN). The program is offered face-to-face at Blue Ash and Salem, Ohio locations, in partnership with the CommuniCare Family of Companies. The administrative position requires a full-time commitment, with some time provided for professional practice. The successful candidate will hold a PhD in Nursing or DNP and licensure as a CNS, preferably in adult gerontology.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Provides leadership and vision for the MSN Program.

  • Serves on search committees for new faculty and staff and recommends to the Dean of the College of Professional and Technical Studies full-time and adjunct faculty and staff for promotion, continuing contracts, tenure, and termination.

  • Develops academic schedules.

  • Ensures the orientation process for new full-time and adjunct faculty and staff is implemented.

  • Provides input for the MSN Program faculty meeting agendas and schedules meetings to discuss administrative issues.

  • Provides input into the budget process.

  • Maintains currency in MSN information for publication, annual reports, reviews, and visits required by outside accrediting agencies.

  • Completes accreditation reports promptly.

  • Facilitates the implementation of needs assessments and findings, curricular revisions, new courses, and other approaches to improving education, long-range planning, and subsequent program development.

  • Assists in recruiting and retaining students.

  • Serves as a representative for the MSN Program as appointed and necessary.

  • Assists faculty in selecting clinical practice environments, agencies, and settings and establishes the faculty/student ratio for laboratory experiences to ensure safe delivery of nursing care.

  • Maintains clinical affiliations and agreements.

  • Has primary responsibilities for supervising and evaluating faculty who teach within the MSN Program and ensures that the University’s evaluation process is implemented as written.

  • Assumes responsibility for daily supervision and input to the evaluation of hourly employees and student employees assigned to the Program

  • Pursues, writes or otherwise executes grants, sources of outside funding, and other revenue-producing projects for new and continued MSN initiatives in cooperation with other School and University personnel.

  • Chairs the MSN Program Advisory Council.

  • Facilitates faculty development, including enhancing educational competencies.

  • Develops and implements a record retention plan for the MSN Program

  • Reviews, checks, and recommends approval of all full-time faculty load reports and adjunct faculty supplemental contracts.

  • Administers the written plan for systematic program evaluation and assessment of educational outcomes in collaboration with the nursing faculty.

  • Performs other duties and responsibilities associated with the Program as assigned by the Dean, Provost, and the President.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Doctorate in Nursing (PhD, DNP)

  • Certification as a Clinical Nursing Specialist or MSN with advanced practice certification

  • Five years of teaching experience in the Nursing field

  • Ohio RN License

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Previous experience as a program director

  • Previous teaching experience in an MSN Program
