Maintenance Supervisor (Electrical)

Location: Belvidere, NJ

Onsite

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for managing the troubleshooting, preventative and corrective maintenance support to production areas, facility and utilities in accordance with Key Performance measure, Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), safety / regulatory requirements, and operational goals.

Assists, coaches and ensures Maintenance Technicians conduct maintenance work in a safe, efficient and effective manner. Determines the allocation of resources to enable optimal attainment of site and departmental goals. Supports the operation budget up to $5M.

Provides project management, implementation and start up support for capital improvement projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides leadership in the development and planning of personnel and plant safety activities and ensures compliance to safety policies and procedures.

  • Responsible for overall repair and maintenance of facility and equipment to minimize down time, meet production requirements, and satisfactory audits.

  • Responsible for Management of Change (MOC) process for all maintenance-initiated change requests.

  • Manages the performance of maintenance employees by approving time and attendance records, reviewing work documentation, ensuring adequate employee training, implementing corrections to issues in a timely manner (including disciplinary issues) and performing annual performance reviews. Documents performance improvement plan after instruction, directives, coaching, and direct assistance fails.

  • Ensures maintenance department Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) are up-to-date.

  • Actively participates in and supports all DSM Integrated Continuous Improvement (DICI) activities and encourage others to do the same.

  • Supports routine Quality talks/briefings with staff to raise Quality awareness.

    You bring:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in a relevant technical discipline is required.

  • 6-10 years of managing experience in a technical position

  • Requires computer literacy with working knowledge of enterprise software such as SAP and Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

  • Requires a knowledge of electrical apparatus and tools, including their design, uses, repair and maintenance. This extends to VFDs, PLCs, Motors, MCC and Substation Equipment.

  • Requires knowledge of electrical testing procedures, results and interpretation

  • Requires the ability to read schematics, specifications, blueprints, and technical drawings.

  • Requires knowledge of preventive, predictive and planned maintenance, and typical electrical work such as motor testing, cable testing.

  • Understands arc flash safety, PPE utilized and promotes standard

  • Requires strong electrical and technical aptitude.

  • Must be available to be on call to handle emergencies or any extra hours as required
