Apple is looking for a driven, highly organized professional to serve as an EHS Physical Safety Program Lead. Become a part of our team that establishes safety standards, develops tools and templates, supports implementation, and manages data related to safety standards and programs. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of programs such as fall protection, confined space entry, powered industrial trucks, hoists and lifts, machine guarding, and fire safety. This role will also include crafting a contractor safety standard and associated programs as well.

Key Qualifications

  • 10+ year track record with EHS Program development and management in technology, electronics or biotech industries

  • 10 + years Corporate, Government or academic EHS experience

  • Deep experience assessing compliance and safety risks in a variety of work environments

  • Track record of implementing EHS programs to meet compliance obligations and address identified risks

  • Understanding of global Environment, Health and Safety regulations and codes (EU, EPA, OSHA, DHS, IEC, IFC, ISO)

  • History of working with contractors and vendors in high technology and facilities equipment settings

  • Understanding of facilities and support equipment supporting sophisticated lab and research operations

  • Experience with operations in manufacturing, retail, warehouse, data centers and event settings

  • Strong working knowledge of fire protection system regulations, operations and maintenance activities

  • Ability to establish working relationships with employees, suppliers and management responsible for operating and maintaining facilities equipment

  • Ability to develop innovative solutions to sophisticated problems

  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to balance multiple high-priority projects in a fast paced and time sensitive environment

  • Familiarity with a variety of data management systems, with the ability to present data trends and inspire change

  • Effective communicator and able to deliver clear, concise, and consistent messages in written and verbal formats to both technical and non-technical audiences

  • CSP or equivalent is desired but not required

Description

This position is responsible for owning the global Physical Safety program for EHS including the contractor's safety, incidents and physical safety key indicator trend analysis. As part of our team, you will: - Support the Global Safety Program within Apple EHS by developing and monitoring safety standards and programs globally - Coordinating with Facilities and regional EHS teams to ensure local safety programs are consistently implemented - Review potential systems and technology for “permit-to-work” options - Support local EHS teams with safety related control measure selection and specification, including safety related PPE recommendations - Provide expertise in safety related incident investigations as requested - Track corrective action and incident trend data to look for systemic or recurring issues that need more global attention - Review and assess status of safety programs worldwide (e.g. radar charts) - Design, propose, implement, global safety control solutions in an effort to provide globally consistent solutions

Education & Experience

BS/MS in EHS, science, or related field
