Amazon Sr. Program Manager – Automation, Risk & Compliance Solutions in Arlington, Virginia

We are looking for an innovative and driven Sr. Program Manager to work on strategic initiatives with a primary focus on driving automation across our global Risk & Compliance Solutions organization. This is an exciting role where you will deliver real change and be able to develop ideas all the way through the product lifecycle. You will be part of a global team and your role will work with internal and external stakeholders across business, tech and operations to deliver meaningful strategic programs that will improve how we manage risk and compliance across Amazon’s diverse businesses across the globe.

Key job responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end service delivery of Automation solutions

• Own full program management lifecycles - identify, track, manage and mitigate project risks, assumptions, issues and dependencies

• Work closely across internal teams, technical experts and business leaders to ensure the successful implementation, maintenance and optimization of automated solutions

• Manage funding and roadmap prioritization, ensuring clear Return on Investment and tracking of initiatives post-launch

• Lead and define the production of Business Requirement Documents ensuring aligned to strategic goals

• Build ideation mechanisms to drive continual identification of future automation projects and process improvements e.g. Kaizen

• Drive longer-term automation plans and vision

A day in the life

• Work closely with peers in the Strategic Programs team across different programs and subjects.

• Connect regularly with Tech partner teams, driving reviews of the programs

• Help functional owners in ideation and crafting requirements for new initiatives.

• Track and report on progress and help needed

• Brainstorm, whiteboard, take on topics outside of your core role and have fun with the team!

About the team

Strategic Programs is a small PMO team within the Risk & Compliance Solutions organization. This is a fast growing organization that provides second line Risk & Compliance advisory and oversight of Amazon’s businesses across the globe, ensuring that our customers have trusted experiences wherever they interact with Amazon. The teams are truly international and diverse, covering in-country and global shared services roles with a mix of skillsets, spanning from tenured Compliance professionals to generalist program managers.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of program or project management experience

  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

  • Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams

  • Experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation or standardization

  • Excellent written, verbal and analytical skills to communicate to a range of stakeholders. Able to thrive autonomously in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of driving process improvements experience

  • Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field

  • Knowledge and application of automation technologies (Robotic Process Automation, Large Language Models, Analytics etc.). Experience in RegTech or managing large regulatory change projects, ideally within second line compliance in financial services or e-commerce

  • Agile delivery (Kanban, Waterfall, Scrum)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $92,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
